At Technique Studios, our mission is to provide each student with the proper technical training and character development they need to achieve their personal best.

We invest in Success!

In addition to a quality education, we intend for our students to feel success.  Our instructors make an emotional investment in the growth of each student.  Success on behalf of the student and the instructor can only come from commitment of time.  Martial Arts, Gymnastics or Dance simply cannot be learned in a short few weeks.  Our curriculums are designed to progress each student through an entire school year of training.  Therefore, once enrolled, students are expected to train through the end of the school year (at a minimum).

School Year Session:  August 16, 2010 – June 11, 2011              *New students may continue to enroll

            Summer Session:  June 20, 2011 - August 6, 2011                                          through May, 2011.

********************************  Frequently Asked Questions  *****************************

Q:  I am really just looking to try a fun activity. Your programs sound serious. Should I still sign up?

A: Our instructors are degreed professionals and have chosen to provide their expertise to our students as their career.  We are serious about the quality of what we teach, however classes are designed to be rewarding and hugely fun.  If you are new to these disciplines, we encourage all potential students to give it a try!  However, if you are simply looking for an entertaining activity for your child, and are not willing to completing the season of training, then the schools at Technique Studios may not be the best choice for you.

*Q: Can I sign up for classes once the school year session has started?

A: New students are accepted at most times.  If necessary and in most cases, instructors will develop a personalized plan to get new students up to speed.  Exceptions may include enrolling for classes at the end of May, as year-end performances, mini-meets or belt testing may be under way.  New students, once enrolled, are expected to train through the end of the season.

Q: How do I register?  Is there a registration fee?

A: Each family must complete a Family Registration Form.  New students must register in person at Student Services.  Existing or previous students may register over the phone once schedules become available.  Class schedules and registration forms are available at Student Services or on-line.

A School Year Administration Fee is due upon initial registration for each School Year Session.  These fees defray administrative costs, including our ability to provide full-time Student Services assistance and secondary insurance on each student.  2009/2010 Family Fee is $52 and Single Student Fee is $38.

Q: How often is tuition due?

A: Tuition is payable every other month and is due the first week of that month.  Your first tuition payment may be prorated depending on your start date.  New Students entering mid-season: Your first tuition payment will include payment for the weeks of June 2011.

Note about Tuition: Tuition remains the same regardless of the number of lessons in the month.  Most months have 4 or 5 lessons.  There are no extra charges for months with more classes.  Tuition is not prorated for Holidays.

Q: What if I pay tuition late?

A: If tuition is paid after the 10th of the month, a $15 late fee is applied to your account and payable at once.  Students who have not paid for tuition will not be permitted to attend classes.  If you cannot bring tuition to the campus by the due date, you can avoid a late fee by making a payment over the phone.

Q: Can I drop one month and re-join in another month during the season?

A: The curriculums for all three schools are designed to progress the students through an entire school year.   For example, what is taught in the month of December may be pre-requisite knowledge for obtaining learned skills in January.  Dropping, once enrolled, is an unfortunate disruption for the student, the class, and the instructor- who has invested in the progress of the student.

For these and other administrative reasons, there is a $20 re-enrollment fee (2010/11 season) for dropped students who wish to re-enroll in the same program.  However, re-enrollment must first be approved by the instructor, assuming space is still available in the class.  Private lessons may be required to get the student back up to speed.

*** Please inform Student Services right away if you intend to drop or are contemplating dropping your student for any reason.  Student Services may be able to find alternative arrangements that can benefit you.  They are here to help!

Q:  Are there discounts for family members?

A:  YES!  When more than one immediate family member is enrolled at the same time, ONLY the most expensive tuition in your family pays full fare; ALL lesser tuitions are discounted 10%.  In addition, all immediate male family members may attend ballet, tap, jazz or musical theater classes for FREE!

General Program Policies

Refund Policy

When Tuition payment is made, a space in class is reserved for the student for the entire school year regardless of attendance.  Technique Studios does not offer refunds or credits on tuition or fees paid.  Technique Studios does not offer prorated tuitions for missed classes.  If class is canceled for any reason, an alternative class will be offered.  Each class is offered one snow day without a make-up class.

Make-up Procedures

Just like college, your tuition pays for a space in class, regardless of attendance.  However, whenever possible we will attempt to grant a make-up request for classes missed.  Instructors must approve make-ups and the make-up must be completed within 30 days.  Make-ups are only granted to current members.  Make-ups are not granted to students who have dropped.  A student is considered dropped from the class if they have not paid tuition and not attended for an entire month.

Technique Studios reserves the right to refuse to offer a make-up if we feel it will affect safety or lessen the experience of those students who have registered for and paid for that class.  Make-up classes need to be scheduled with Student Services and are generally not given at towards the end of the school year in dance and gymnastics as performance preparations are in progress.

Class Cancelations

Classes must meet enrollment minimums in order to run the class.  Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment, inclement weather or other unplanned for events.  In the rare event that a class must be cancelled, students will be notified immediately and information will be given regarding alternative arrangements if applicable.  Each class is allowed one snow day without a make-up class.

Returned Check Fee

There is a $35.00 returned check charge for any checks returned by the bank.
