Welcome to the USA Gymnastics Program at Technique Studios
What is covered in class?
At Technique Studios, we are different from other gyms in the area. We specialize in teaching gymnastics skills from technically correct body positions. Classes always begin with stretching and warm-up exercises followed by a review of the Technique Studios (6) basic body positions; straight, tuck, pike, straddle, hollow andarch. Also, at the beginning of each class, the instructor introduces the “Olympic Attitude” of the week. This character trait is incorporated and enforced in the week’s class plan. The class then moves through one of the (40) weekly lesson plans. These lesson plans are designed to progress each student through their leveled curriculum over the course of the entire school year. Lesson plans for Kindergarten level and up do include learning gymnastic routines.
Note: Lesson plans build on each other; therefore attendance is critical for success. Once joined, dropping and rejoining (or dropping altogether) mid-season is highly discouraged. Dropping is viewed as an unfortunate loss for both the student and the instructor who has made a significant investment in the progress of the child. Technique Studios can only guarantee success in gymnastics if the child is committed to the program as it is designed.
New This Year! Our 1st Annual Spring Challenge Fun Meet for Levels:
Kindergarten, Grade School, Middle School and Advanced Classes- May 19 & 20, 2012
After a full season of gymnastics training it seems only fitting that our fabulous students get to show off and perform a sampling of what they have achieved! These great kids have worked hard not only on their gymnastics skills, but also their Olympic Attitudes of Perseverance, Courage and more. Therefore, Technique Studios will hold its 1stAnnual Spring Challenge Fun Meet for our recreational gymnasts who should experience what it is like be in a gymnastics meet but are not quite ready for committed at a competitive team level.
The Spring Challenge Fun Meet promises to be hugely fun and very rewarding! The gym will be decorated and transformed into an Olympic Stadium. Every gymnast will receive a trophy and/or medal for their scores during an award ceremony. Routines will be performed in front of real (and very supportive) judges as well as family and friends. Classes will get to compete for TEAM awards as they rely on their coach to help them with strategy, skills and routines. Coaches’ assistance will not be counted against them!
By the time May 19 and 20 come around, the gymnasts will have become confident in their skills and more independent in their training. Routines are started in early January and gymnasts will learn sequencing and team building. The Spring Challenge Fun Meet will be mildly competitive, but hugely fun and very rewarding.
Details:The Spring Challenge Fun Meet will take place on Saturday or Sunday (May 19 or 20), NOT during their regularly scheduled class. Your gymnast’s scheduled day will be determined in February, after rosters have been evaluated. Block your calendars now! There is a nominal fee associated with the Spring Challenge Fun Meet of $38 due December 1, 2011. Each gymnast will receive 1 FREE Technique Studios Gymnastics WARM UP SHIRT. Meet fees help to defray the cost of trophies, medals, judges, coaches and decorations. Gymnasts also receive (2) FREE OPEN GYMS in which to practice their routines!

Annual Year End Mini-Meet for Preschoolers- May 21-25, 2011.
Our fabulous preschoolers get to show off their talented skills as well! Preschoolers will perform in their Year-End Mini-Meet during their regularly scheduled class times the week of May 21- 25. Families get to invite their friends to come watch as our preschool gymnasts perform skills and routines with help from their coaches. There will be a presentation ceremony and an award ceremony, where each gymnast will receive a real gymnastics medal. This is a super fun week for the kids and they look forward to it many months in advance! There is NO fee to participate in the Preschool Year End Mini-Meet. However, if preschoolers would like to purchase a Technique Studios WARM UP SHIRT, they may do so for $20.
